Description
The Women’s Library holdings include the Archives of the Movement for the Ordination of Women (MOW), which are fully catalogued and listed online under the reference 6MOW. MOW was established in 1979 and terminated in 1994, with the main aim to campaign for the ordination of women in the Anglican Churches of the British Isles as a fundamental part of the full expression of the Ministry of men and women in the church.
In 2023-24, the Friends of the Women’s Library undertook a project of recording reminiscences of veteran MOW campaigners, to be retained alongside the records of the organisation. The project interviewed 14 participants, mainly women priests involved with the campaign. Each oral history interview includes the recording of the interview together with a transcript of it.
